On 4th December 2020, R.C Kirinyaga visited Kerugoya Prison and St. Marys Home for the aged. Rotarians and prospective Rotarians made time away from their busy schedules to deliver assorted items. Due to Covid 19, the visits were so brief with minimum interaction with the inmates and the aged. One team visited Kerugoya Prisons, where after the handing over of items they planted trees. In Kenya, it is the Government policy that all primary schools include special unit classes in which children with various disablities can attend. The classes in which these children learn is often not given high priority, resulting in many of them being in dilapidated conditions. Renovating these classes and making them pleasant to the children and their teachers is one way of showing them acceptance and improving their self esteem. ANNUAL MEDICAL CAMPS

The Rotary Club of Kirinyaga, in partnership with the County Department of health and a number of sponsors, notably KTDA Region II, zone 5 conducts a medical camp in Kirinyaga every October global Breast Cancer awareness month. By so doing the Club supports the Department of Health to conduct the screening and other priority conditions; including non-communicable disease such as diabetes and hypertension.
